Berwick Arts District Design Contest

Berwick Arts Association is creating banners for the new Berwick Arts District - and you're invited to submit your design! Four winners will each win $250.

Contest Rules

  • This contest is open to individuals aged 18 or older and individuals under the age of 18 whose parent or guardian provides permission for their participation.

  • Up to two entries per person will be accepted. A separate entry form must be used for each entry.

  • Entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. on June 10, 2024.

  • Entries must use 1:2.4 (width:height) dimensions and must be a digital image (.pdf and .png) of at least 300 dpi.

  • All entries must incorporate the theme and words “Berwick Arts District.”

  • All entries must be submitted electronically at https://form.jotform.com/241278189327061 by June 10, 2024.

  • Artists can use any media to create their submissions.

  • All artwork must be an original creation made by the entrant.  The use of copyrighted material or characters is prohibited.  

  • Artwork will be judged by a committee of six people including one representative from Berwick Arts Association, one representative from Berwick Borough, one representative from Hailstone Economic LLC, one representative from the For the Cause Teen Center Youth Action Board, one Berwick Borough resident, and one artist based in Columbia County, PA.

  • The committee will judge the artwork based on the following criteria: originality and creativity (20%); representation of Berwick Borough (20%); quality of artwork and artistic skill (40%); and interpretation of the “Berwick Arts District” theme (20%) for a total of up to 100 points. Residents of Berwick Borough will receive an additional 5 points and residents of Columbia County who do not live in Berwick Borough will receive an additional 2 points.

  • The four highest ranked entries will be selected as winners.

  • Winners will be notified by email by June 30, 2024.

  • Each winner will receive a prize of $250.

  • Employees, affiliates, associates, and board members of Berwick Arts Association, Berwick Borough, Hailstone Economic LLC, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and their immediate family members, are prohibited from entering.
