Executive Director, WCR Center for the Arts, Inc.: Overview
Mission: WCR Center for the Arts, Inc. is a nonprofit community organization focused on promoting the arts, serving the community, and enhancing the revitalization efforts in Reading, Pennsylvania.

Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent working experience. 
Required Experience: Minimum 3 years of nonprofit leadership or management experience.  
Preferred Experience: Background in artistic, cultural, historical, preservation fundraising and grant writing,
Skills/Abilities:
Ability to lead staff, contractors, and volunteers.
Management, finance, and administrative skills.
Excellent written/verbal communication skills; ability to speak in public.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to reach out to community leaders and dialogue with colleagues in related fields. Microsoft Office; QuickBooks, Excel, Canva knowledge a plus

 

Executive Director, WCR Center for the Arts: Responsibility Details
Mission-Focus
●      Programs & Events: oversee the development and coordination of seasonal programs, events, and community engagement
●      Buildings/Facilities Management: oversee project prioritization and regular maintenance.

Management
●      Personnel: Lead full-time/part-time staff as well as independent contractors, volunteers, interns, and other resources.
●      Governance: Attend Board Meetings and work with the Board of Directors, lead planning in implementing objectives
●      Finance: Monitor monthly finances; develop and manage annual operating budget; coordinate audit process.
●      Marketing: Oversee the WCR Center for the Arts brand, website, advertising, social media, and press releases.

Critical Support
●      Development: reach out to existing and potential donors; pursue and oversee grant applications; seek annual season supporters for special projects; develop mid-year and year-end appeal strategies.
●      Programs and Events: procure new artistic performance events
●      Community Outreach: maintain collaborative relationships with other arts/cultural/historical organizations, regional nonprofits, education institutions, and the business community.
